WHO WE ARE
Bionica is an all-girls FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics team from Hewlett, New York. Our mission is to promote girls in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) and break stereotypes. We hope to spread awareness about our cause and engage/integrate our community in robotics. Through outreach events held in elementary schools as well as in our district, Bionica aims to inspire the next generation of engineers, coders, and builders.

TEAM
Our Friday nights are filled with members creating new designs, prototyping ideas, and experimenting with tools. With teamwork, collaboration, and motivation, Bionica members have gained great knowledge in the vast and intriguing field of robotics. We are extremely excited to participate in this year’s First Tech Challenge.

COMMUNITY
In our community, Bionica has attended and helped to organize STEAM Nights at the elementary schools, where young students can venture into the world of engineering and robotics. For the past couple of years, we have had booths at our enormous community fair, Arts Below Sunrise. We also participate in the New York MakerFaire and New York Hall of Science STEM Nights.

FUTURE
At 7120 Bionica, we strive to empower the lives of youth in the our community through different programs. We hope to spread the ideals of FIRST and encourage more young girls to join the world of robotics! We would like to start an all-girls FLL team at our middle school and spread our programs and influence.
